Holding the track in place a mark can be made with a pencil where the screws will be installed.
Install closet doors before or after carpet.
If you re remodeling your closet and installing sliding doors you may be concerned when it comes to installing the bottom brackets on your carpeting.
Sliding doors only let you see half of what is in there at one time.
Installing bifold doors is not difficult and it should only take about an hour of your time.
Also maybe others are more careful but i found it s hard not to ding the floor a little bit when doing doors afterwards.
Sliding doors can be confusing to install on carpet because instead of small corner brackets they typically are installed with track brackets that run the width of the closet opening.
Then sit the toe kick on the proper size blocking so it sits level.

Shoot a row of nails into the floor just behind where the toe kick will sit through the carpet to hold it from moving before you cut the carpet.
Use a masonary or carbide tipped bit to drill thru the terrazzo floor drill slowly and keep the drill cool with small amount of water from a spray bottle.
For that reason i cut both jambs to a length that keeps them roughly 3 8 inch off the subfloor.
I ve seen people reccomend both ways.
If you are installing a pre hung door and only one side is carpeting then it s easiest to cut off a bit of the bottom of the door before you install it.
The carpet installers will run right up to and under the trim for a seamless look.
I also make sure that there will be plenty of space to keep the bottom of the door clear of the carpet.
Is it a good idea to wait until the floors are installed before installing the doors or should the doors be installed first or doesn t it matter.

After cutting the jambs to length i set the hinge jamb on a 3 8 inch thick shingle butt.
Before the floors go in you can easily shim one end of the jamb to get the door exactly plumb.
